Michael T Geise

Michael T. Geise, 76, of Rensselaer, passed away on June 12, 2025, at his home with his family around him.

On April 14, 1949, Michael was born to James and Joan (Wright) Geise in Chicago, Illinois. He married the love of his life, Lynn Rentner on December 7, 1968. Michael was a self-employed auto mechanic who enjoyed buying and fixing up cars to sell them. He was the Treasurer for the Illiana Yacht Club. Michael was a jack of all trades, an excellent cook, fisherman, sailor, and collector. He was the proud owner of an extensive duck statue collection, who enjoyed going to auctions and secondhand shops to pick up new treasures. Michael was a fan of all kinds of racing, whether it was automotive, boat, horse, or anything else. Above all, he was happiest in the moments he spent with his family.

Michael is survived by his loving wife: Lynn, children: Tina (John) Voyak, Jennifer (Tom) Crawford, Michael (Kirsten) Geise, Tamara (Nicholas) Brakebill, 19 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, siblings: Barbara Wismer, Patrick Geise, Brian Geise, Bridgette Geise-Cronin, and fur babies: Poppy, Stella, Astro, and Venus.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, and son: James Geise.

Per Michael’s wishes cremation will take place.

A Celebration of Life will be held on a later date.
