Michael 'Mick' Sullivan

Michael ‘Mick’ Clarence Sullivan, age 73, of DeMotte, Indiana, passed away Sunday, February 8, 2026.

On February 5, 1953 in Hammond, Indiana, Mick was born to Robert and Frances (Brown) Sullivan. He graduated from Kankakee Valley High School in 1971, where he was later inducted into the Hall of Fame for his high school baseball career. Mick married Gloria Jean DeVries on September 19, 1975, in DeMotte, Indiana. He worked for Kaper’s Building Material for 42 years and was a master of his craft in carpentry. Mick enjoyed playing softball with friends in his younger years, golfing, watching his favorite sports teams, and working on his 1967 Chevelle SS. Most of all he loved his wife, children, and grandchildren.

Mick is survived by his wife of 50 years: Gloria (DeVries) Sullivan, children: Christine Sullivan, Matthew Sullivan, 4 grandchildren: Benjamin, Milo, Meah, Willow, and siblings: Thomas Sullivan, Rhonda (Dale) Kikkert, and Jolene Wagoner.

Mick was preceded in death by his parents, brother: Robert and mother-in-law: Lois DeVries.

A private graveside service in his honor with a Celebration of Life planned at a later date.
