83 year old, Paula Jean DeVries, of Fair Oaks, passed away June 22, 2019.

On March 15, 1936, in Griffith, Indiana, Jean was born to Peter J. and Sarah (Neese) Grugel. Jean married the love of her life, Theodore DeVries on June 24, 1953 in Griffith, Indiana. Jean was a farmer’s wife, and a member of the First Christian Reformed Church of DeMotte. Jean loved to crochet, canning fruits & vegetables, loved her family and her nieces & nephews meant the world to her.

Jean is survived by her husband: Theodore, children: Donna (Richard) Zahler, Darla (Daniel) Minkler, Doug (Norma) DeVries, Dennis (Sandy) DeVries, Daniel (Sherry) DeVries, 17 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and sister: Betty Eaton.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, son: David and daughter-in-law: Debbie, siblings: Alvin Grugel, Fred Grugel, Marion Neyhart, Ruthie Conway, and Vera West.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at the First Christian Reformed Church, DeMotte. Services for Jean will take place at the church at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 with Pastor Laryn Zoerhoff officiating. Interment will follow at the Holland Cemetery.
