69 year old, Richard Duttlinger of Wheatfield passed away November 27, 2014 at Porter Regional Hospital.

On January 7, 1945, Richard was born in Rensselaer, Indiana to Charles Joseph Duttlinger and Agnes (Jachim) Duttlinger. Rich was a lifetime area resident. He graduated from Kouts high school, attended Purdue for 2 years, served in the Peace Corps for 3 years in West Africa, and was a farmer. He married Linda Rooney on January 30, 1971 in Michigan City, Indiana. Rich was a member of Sorrowful Mother Catholic Church and was instrumental in directing the Sorrowful Mother Catholic Church Food Pantry.

Rich is survived by his loving family: wife: Linda, sons: Ben (Val) Duttlinger, Dave (Jill) Duttlinger, Fred (Nicole) Duttlinger, 9 grandchildren, siblings: Marilyn (Tom) Hartman, Marge (Chuck) Volante, Delores (Bob) Dixon, Donna (Jim) Kearney, Loretta (Doug) Kosloske, Joe (Donna) Duttlinger, John Duttlinger, and Dan (Lori) Duttlinger.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents: Charles and Agnes, and brother Frank Duttlinger.

Friends are invited to visit with the family on Sunday, November 30, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove St., Wheatfield, Indiana. A prayer service will take place on Sunday, at 3:00 p.m.  Catholic Mass will take place on Monday, December 1, 2014; at Sorrowful Mother Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Kankakee Township Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Sorrowful Mother Catholic Church Food Pantry.
