Richard LaCosse

53 year old, Richard R. ‘Rich’ LaCosse, of Rensselaer, passed away June 21, 2026, with his loving family around him.

On. August 29, 1972, Rich was born to Lawrence ‘Larry’ and Charlene (Schutz) LaCosse, in Rensselaer, Indiana. He graduated from Kankakee Valley High School, class of 1991. Rich married the love of his life, Jessica LaCosse, on June 14, 2025, in Rensselaer, Indiana. He worked as an evening supervisor at Genova Plastics. Rich was a member of First Church in Wheatfield. He was in the ROTC in high school and has been a lifetime fan of the Chicago Cubs and Bears. Rich enjoyed fishing, camping, playing softball, football, cornhole, poker, and dice and card games. He was a competitive man, who was always ready to have fun with his friends and family.

Rich is survived by his father: Larry (Sue) LaCosse, loving wife: Jessica, children: Seth (Skyler Leston) De Los Santos, Christina (Aaron) Wilkins, Xzavier Fontaine, Johnathon Howard, Alyssa Perry, grandchildren: Rainbow, Everett, Alazea, and siblings: Becky (Michael Johnston) Erinberg, David (Maggie) LaCosse, Brad (Candi) Castle, Donny (Cinde) Castle, Michelle Jones, mother-in-law: Patricia Cox-Perry, and his many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Rich was preceded in death by his mother: Charlene LaCosse, and granddaughter: Nevaeh.

Per Rich’s wishes cremation will take place.

Services for Rich will be planned for a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Riley’s Children’s Hospital.
