Richard "Rich" Eugene Sanders

62 year old, Richard Eugene Sanders, of Rensselaer/Wheatfield passed away October 12, 2008.

On June 2, 1946, he was born in Lafayette, Indiana, to Ralph and Elizabeth (nee: Siple) Sanders. Rich was a Sheet Metal Worker for Local 20 for 34 years.

Rich is survived by one daughter, Jeanna C. Katona; one son, Richard E. (Carol) Sanders II; six grandchildren, Andrew, Laura, Lee, Katie, Ashley, and Jonathan; two great-grandchildren; step-father, Bert Houtschilt; and special friend, Bonnie Mills. He is also survived by his brother, George, sisters, Gail and Carrie Gail; sister-in-laws, Carol and Joyce.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Wayne and Doug.

Friends are invited to visit with the family on Thursday, October 16, 2008 from 1:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove St., Wheatfield, Indiana.  Services for Richard E. Sanders will take place Thursday, October 16, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at Boersma Funeral Home with Pastor Elmer Conley officiating. Interment will take place at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
