Robert J. Barton

58 year old, Robert J. ‘Bob’ Barton, of Wheatfield, passed away May 27, 2020 unexpectedly at his home.

On June 18, 1961, Bob was born to Robert K. & Roberta (Green) Barton in Clinton, Indiana. Bob was a 1979 graduate of Kankakee Valley High School. He worked for the Town of DeMotte at their Water Plant and the Waste Water Plant for 35+ years. Bob loved the great outdoors, especially fishing, and hunting. His other favorite pastime was teasing anyone he could.

Bob is survived by his wife: Jackie, children: Stephanie (Jason) Granter, Robert ‘Bobby’ Barton, Callie Baird, and Colton Hayes, 5 grandchildren: Kolby Barton, Charlie Granter, Raini Granter, Tucker Granter, Jase Granter, and sisters: Debbie (Steve) Cervantes, and Nada (Kevin) Nagel.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Life will take place at the Wheatfield American Legion Post #406 on Saturday, May 30, 2020 from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers memorials are asked for the Kniman United Methodist Church.
