Robert Grady

71 year old, Robert W. ‘Rob’ Grady, of Rensselaer, passed away September 7, 2026.

On March 20, 1955, Rob was born to Charles and Lucille (Baker) Grady, in Del Rio, Texas. He served in the United States Army as a diesel mechanic. Rob married the love of his life, Lynn MacPhail, on Nevember 16, 1979, in Clarion, Pennsylvania. He worked as a lineman for a telephone company, then opened his own business as a horse farrier. Rob loved fishing, gardening, and his horses. He was a storyteller, could get everyone around him laughing, and never knew a stranger. Rob loved his grandchildren, and was always ready and willing to pass his wisdom on to them, in life, and in the garden.

Rob is survived by his loving wife: Lynn, children: Amanda Grady, Brian (Alicia) Grady, grandchildren: Benjamin, Mason, Hailey, Avery, and siblings: Vicky (Russ) Porter, and Bruce (Pam) Grady.

Rob was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 14, 2026, at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 E. Grove St., Wheatfield. Funeral Services for Rob will be held at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor John Frye officiating. Graveside Military Honors Services for Rob will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at the Kankakee Township Cemetery.
