Robert 'Bob' Krygier

86 year old, Robert D. Krygier, of DeMotte, passed away on June 24, 2025, at his home with his loving wife by his side.

On June 13, 1939, Bob was born to Stanley and Ann (Duhon) Krygier in Hammond, Indiana. He spent 35 and a half years as a firefighter for the Hammond Fire Department. On May 20, 2011, Bob married his beloved wife, Catherine Swart in Schererville, Indiana. He was a member of the Retired Firefighters #556, the Sons of the American Legion, Wheatfield, Post 406, and Hammond Mohawks. Bob loved going to car shows, taking his 1953 Ford convertible, and being outside gardening and landscaping.

Bob is survived by his wife: Cathy, children: Pam (Mike) Hurst, Jackie (Jim) Wieser, Becky (Bill) Stambaugh, Bob (Sandy) Krygier, step-children: Nancy (Jim) Predmore, Russ Mathas, 10 grandchildren, sister: Pat Wetnight, brother-in-law: Howard (Janeen) Swart, and sisters-in-law: Mary Steele, and Joanne Swart.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, grandchildren: Elizabeth Hurst, Baby Predmore, sister-in-law: Shirley Swart, and brothers-in-law: Dick Wetnight, Warren Swart, and Leonard Swart Jr.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 29, 2025 at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 E. Grove Street, Wheatfield, IN 46392. A Mass of Christian Burial for Bob will take place at 10:00 a.m. on June 30, 2025, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 334 15th Street SW., DeMotte, IN 46310 with Father Michael McKinney officiating. Interment will follow at the Cemetery of the Resurrection.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Sorrowful Mother Catholic Church Food Pantry in Wheatfield, or Good Neighbors Food Pantry in DeMotte.
