Shirley Gilbert

79 year old, Shirley Gilbert of DeMotte passed away April 25, 2017.

On February 25, 1938, Shirley was born to Charles and Lena (McElroy) Williams in Jasper County, Indiana at home. Shirley was a waitress at Trail Tree in Rensselaer and loved being a housewife.

Shirley is survived by her children: Roxanne (Mark) McKim, Joe (Sharon) Gilbert, Cheri (Ed) Born, Rick (Dawn) Gilbert, and Karen (Jeff) Gilbert, 9 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-granddaughter, and former husband of 19 years: Larry Gilbert, siblings: Glenn (Lisa) Williams, Martha Fedornock, Jenny Eldridge, Frances Ragland, and Millie (Dale) Voughn.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10:00 until 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 28, 2017 at the Wheatfield Pentecostal Church of God. Services will take place at the church at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Doug Griffith officiating, interment will follow at the Wheatfield Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Church Youth Group.
