Theodore DeVries

92 year old, Theodore DeVries, of Fair Oaks passed March 9, 2020.

On November 26, 1927 in Roseland, Illinois, Theodore DeVries was born to Andrew E. and Sarah (Hoekstra) DeVries. Theodore married the love of his life, Paula J Grugel (who preceded him) on June 24, 1953, in Griffith, Indiana. Theodore was a farmer and worked for DeJong Bros, and Leanline Farm in Fair Oaks. He liked to garden and tease people. He was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church, DeMotte, Indiana.

Ted is survived by his children: Donna (Richard) Zahler, Darla (Daniel) Minkler, Doug (Norma) DeVries, Dennis (Sandy) DeVries, Daniel (Sherry Wiseman) DeVries, 17 grandchildren, and 40+ great-grandchildren, and brother: Edward (Helen) DeVries.

Ted was preceded in death by his wife: Paula, son: David (Debra Campbell) DeVries, 2 sisters: Winifred Eenigenburg, & Dorothy Gorter.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 16, 2020 at the First Christian Reformed Church of DeMotte, Indiana. Services for Ted will take place at the church at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 with Pastor Jim Alblas officiating. Interment will follow at the Holland Cemetery, DeMotte, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the DeMotte Christian School.
