Theresa J Mak

92 year old, Theresa J. Mak, of DeMotte, passed away at her home on August 18, 2019.

On September 8, 1926, Theresa was born in Chicago, Illinois, to Peter & Jennie (DeVries) Van Eck. Theresa was a member of the Class of 1944 at Fenger High School, Chicago. She married the love of her life, John L. Mak (who preceded her in death), on September 8, 1948, in Chicago. Theresa worked for Thomas Flooring for over 25 years. She was a member of the American Reformed Church, DeMotte, Indiana. She was part of the Women’s Guild, and Choir. She sewed, knitted, crochet, and loved to quilt.

Theresa is survived by her children: Cindy (Joseph) Faraone, Carol Leffert, Robert (Micah) Mak, Jolyn Houser, 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

Theresa was preceded in death by her husband: John, siblings: Joanna Van Eck, Minard Van Eck, Willard ‘Bill’ Van Eck, and Herman Van Eck.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 23, 2019, at the American Reformed Church, DeMotte, Indiana. Services for Theresa will take place at the church at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, with Pastor Stephen Van Eck officiating. Interment will follow at the Holland Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Reformed Church, DeMotte, Indiana.
