Bob Mathis

83 year old, William Robert ‘Bob’ Mathis III, of Wheatfield, passed away September 25, 2023.

On January 31, 1940, in Newport, Arkansas, to William Robert Mathis II, Jr., and Hazel (Grant) Mathis. Bob graduated from Wheatfield High School, class of 1961. Bob retired from Hamstra Builders. He loved to sing, and watch the western channel on TV. Bob sang at the Wheatfield American Legion, and with the Alex Wayne Bands.

Bob is survived by his son: William Robert Mathis IV, and significant other: Jerie Woytinek, siblings: Steve (Cindy) Mathis, Betty (Charles ‘Chuck’) Green, and Helen (Neil) Myers.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents: father: William R. Mathis II, mother: Hazel (Grant) Mathis, brothers: Walt Mathis, and Roy Mathis, and son: Danny Mathis, first wife: Carol Mathis.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Friday, September 29, 2023 at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove St., Wheatfield, Indiana. Graveside service will take place at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Friday, at the Wheatfield Cemetery.
