Cordelia Boersma

95 year old, Cordelia Boersma, of Rittman, Ohio, formerly of Francesville, Indiana, passed away March 7, 2021.

On August 29, 1925, Cordelia was born to Gerbrand and Mary (Tanis) Kooy, in DeMotte, Indiana. Cordelia graduated from DeMotte High School, and was Valedictorian of her class. She married the love of her life, William ‘Bill’ Boersma on March 20, 1945, in DeMotte, Indiana. Cordelia loved being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning, and baking.

Cordelia is survived by her family: children: Betty (Dennis) Archer, Rich (Dorothy) Boersma, Ken Boersma (Carrie Tomko), Joe (Sharon) Boersma, Clinton (Dawn) Boersma, Leila (Paul) Spickerman, 19 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Cordelia was preceded in death by her husband: William ‘Bill’ Boersma, siblings: Elsie, Mable, Leona, Ruth, Laura, Genvieve, and Raymond.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. (EST) on Saturday, March 13, 2021, at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove St., Wheatfield, Indiana. Interment will follow at the Roseland Cemetery, Francesville, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Apostolic Christian Home, Rittman, Ohio.
