76 year old, Edward G. Erdelac, passed away at his home on January 23, 2020.

On January 27, 1943, in Gary, Indiana, Edward was born to Edward and  Julia (Hrycak) Erdelac-Romberg. He graduated from Thorton Fractional North, and married the love of his life Judy Schulte on February 2, 1974 at St. Victor Church, in Calumet City. Ed was into Law Enforcement, and worked for the Jasper County Sheriff’s Department as Courthouse Security. He also worked for the Calumet City Police Department. Ed also served in the U.S. Marine Corp. He was a member of the FOP Lodge #1, and the Highland Model A Restorer’s Club.

Ed is survived by his wife: Judy, son: Edward Michael (Sandra) Erdelac, and grandchildren: Johnathon Olson, Magnolia Erdelac, Willow Erdelac, August Erdelac, and siblings: Richard (Dawn) Romberg, Walter (Cheryl) Romberg, and Mariann (Al) Demkovich.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, step-father: Richard Romberg, and niece: Kelly Romberg.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 12:00 (noon) until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 E Grove St., Wheatfield, Indiana. Services for Ed will take place at the funeral home on Saturday, at 4:00 p.m. with Father Paul Cochran and Pastor Larry Fugett.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: Jasper County Sheriff’s newest K-9, Kimber and (P.E.T.) Mobility Ministries.
