Hunter Robert Schoonveld

17 year old, Hunter Robert Schoonveld, of Rensselaer, along with the love of his life, Malery Eastridge, 16 years old, passed away as a result of a car accident on November 21, 2020.

Hunter was born in Rensselaer, Indiana on August 23, 2003 to Jason Schoonveld and Carrie (Campbell) Minter. Hunter attended Rensselaer Schools, and then worked at Fase-Kaluf’s delivering and installing appliances. He was a certified hunter, and loved to hunt and fish, he played football and was a full-back. Hunter enjoyed riding 4-wheelers. He especially loved his little brother Blake. No matter when or where you met up with Hunter, he always had a wonderful smile resting on his shoulders. He always had a story to tell.

Hunter is survived by his parents: Jason Schoonveld, Carrie (Craig) Minter, siblings: Chyanne (Josh) Hesson, Chris Minter, Kylie Schoonveld, Blake Schoonveld, Tony Sexton, Zachary Sexton, Piper Sexton, aunts & uncles: Lana (Dave) Granlund, Dustin (Jen) Schoonveld, Laura (Matt) Pizer, Wade Campbell, Cassie Peck, Tim Campbell, grandparents: Jerry & Doris Campbell, Rob & Kathy Schoonveld, Larry & Lou Minter, Geneva Smith, and several nieces & nephews.

Hunter was preceded in death by his grandpa: Robert ‘Smitty’ Smith.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 29, 2020 at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 E. Grove St., Wheatfield, Indiana. Private family graveside services will take place at the Holland Cemetery, with Pastor Randy Gann officiating.

Due to Covid 19 restrictions we respectfully ask that you follow all government mandates. Only 50 people will be allowed inside at any one time and must follow rules of social distancing. Please limit visits to 5 minutes or less, unless time permits.
