Ivadell Taylor

Ivadell Taylor, of DeMotte, at 89 years of age, went to be with her Lord, on August 19, 2020.

On May 29, 1931, Ivadell was born to Neal and Masie (Roberson) Thornhill in Boaz, Alabama. She married Hurbert L Taylor, on July 24, in 1947, in Rising Fawn, Georgia when they were 16 and 17 years old respectively. She was a charter member of KV Bible Baptist Church, now known as Graceway Bible Baptist Church, and served as a deacon’s wife for many years. Ivadell loved to work in the garden, and can the rewards from the garden. She also liked to sew.

Ivadell is survived by her children: ‘Joyce’ Dianne (Herb) Cory, Karen (Stan) Cales, Ret. Lt. Col. Kevin Dan (Tara) Taylor, Kimberly Kay (Mike) Sokolowski, 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren,

Ivadell was preceded in death by her husband: Hubert, parents: Neal & Masie, brother: Travis Thornhill, son-in-law: Martin ‘Marty’ Sparger,

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 28, 2020 at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove St., Wheatfield, Indiana. Services for Ivadell will take place on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will take place at the Hillcrest Cemetery, Boaz, Alabama on Monday, August 31, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. graveside.
