70 year old, Karen Jayne DeYoung, of DeMotte, passed away March 6, 2020 at her home.
On February 6, 1950, Karen was born to Daniel and Betty (Dionne) Odle. She worked as an EMT and Phlebotomist. She also taught at the United Methodist Church Pre-School for many years. She was involved with her children while they were growing up. She attended Full Gospel Tabernacle Church of Wheatfield. Karen was an avid Bible Scholar, helped with VBS, loved to read, work in her yard, (was very meticulous about her yard).
Karen is survived by her loving family: children: Danny DeYoung, Sharon Thatcher, Rodney (Wanda) DeYoung, Barbara DeYoung, 4 grandchildren: Blaine, Brock, Dakota, Fara Grace, and 2 great-grandchildren: Finnegan & Bennett, mother: Betty Odle, siblings: Barbara (Gerry) Michael, Janet Newbanks, Linda (Dennis) DeYoung, Pat Belstra, Daren (Debbie) Odle, Laurie (Ken) Patrick, Mark (Maria) Odle, numerous nieces and nephews.
Karen was preceded in death by her father: Dan Odle.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 9, 2020 at the Full Gospel Tabernacle Church of Wheatfield. Services for Karen will take place at the church on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastors Ken Patrick & Craig Smith officiating. Interment will follow at the Cemetery of the Resurrection.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Sorrowful Mother Food Pantry in Wheatfield, where Karen liked to help when she could.
