Kernie Sexton

71 year old, Kernie Sexton, of Wheatfield, passed away April 23, 2021, at his home with his loving family around him.

On April 13, 1950, Kernie was born to Clarence and Sussana (Magger) Sexton in Velcco, Kentucky. Kernie married the love of his life, Barbara Martin, on June 28, 1974, in Cedar Lake, Indiana. Kernie worked for U.S. Steel, Gary Works in the Energy #1 Power House. Kernie enjoyed working on old cars.

Kernie is survived by his wife: Barbara, children: Lisa (Sid) Sanchez, Ray Sexton, Santina Sexton, 5 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and siblings: Willis, Marsha, and James.

Kernie was preceded in death by his parents and 1 grandson

Per Kernie’s wishes graveside services will take place 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 24, 2021, at the Wheatfield Cemetery.
