Shannon L. Risner

74 year old, Shannon L. Risner of San Pierre, passed away February 26, 2020 at his home after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.

On January 5, 1946, in Rensselaer, Indiana, Shannon was born to Raymond and Beulah (Stepp) Risner. Shannon graduated from Tefft High School class of 1964. Shannon served in the US Air Force during Vietnam. He was a Supervisor for Coal handling at NIPSCO. He married Carol Stonebraker on September 7, 1991, in Wheatfield, Indiana. Shannon was a member of the Wheatfield American Legion #406. He loved to fish.

Shannon was survived by his wife: Carol, children: Sean Risner, Sasha Risner, Bob Gourley, and Lisa (Manuel) Tuveri, 7 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and sibling Jean McCurdy.

Shannon was preceded in death by his parents, brother: Raymond ‘Buddy’ Risner, and sister: Elsie Beiswanger.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 2, 2020 at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove St., Wheatfield, Indiana. Services will take place at the funeral home on Monday, March 2, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. with Father Paul Cochran officiating. Interment will follow at the Kankakee Township Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
